Came for brunch in a Sunday to meet up with family. At noon we were the only ones there aside from a bar crown watching English premier league soccer. Staff was super friendly as they accommodated my two young nieces (2.5 and 3.5 years old). The place was decorated nicely for the holidays and had a very old school Italian vibe, very cozy. Food was pretty good but nothing to go crazy over, well executed Italian. I did appreciate the fresh Parmesan they give with the complimentary bread, nice touch.
Super cool spot in lic! Close to train or ferry stops. Bands on Friday occasionally and nice music playlist other nights. Bar, front and back dining room and ice cream next door. Brickoven pizza, fresh super flavorful and tasty . Burrata salad rustică w pepper and burrata was great. Mixed salad was base hit. Bartenders very friendly and good mixologists. A good recommendation for stopping by happy hour, date nights, or just hanging w fellas watching the games on the teley.
What a lovely little family spot; I was there this weekend for my cousin's baptism celebration of their daughter, the food was tasty and the staff was friendly. But I had to write a review because they were so accommodating; my son has autism and eats very little, I pulled the waitress aside, and I asked if there was anyway they could make him a grilled cheese, which was far from what they were serving us. The server personally went back and made one for him and made sure he liked it. Little moments like this are amazing and I was so happy they got our business!
I've coming here for the last 5 years. It's my favorite Italian spot in the neighborhood. Gianna and team serve up a great menu...classic dishes but also small twists on a classic. The whole team is so warm and welcoming. My wife and I loved the food and ambiance so much that we had our wedding reception on their back patio. Check out that patio! It's awesome.
My family from out of town came to NY so we had to bring them to our favorite restaurant Manducatis Rustica. The gnocchi were divine, fluffy little pillows of joy. The gelato never disappoints. I had the caramel biscotti this time, but hazelnut is also a favorite. The service was also excellent. The only con, which is not about the restaurant itself is street parking on a Friday night was a challenge. Do yourself a favor and map to one of the nearby parking garages.
We always have a great Time at Manducatos !! We love the food !! We love the friendly service !! You always make us feel wellcome !!!!
"There was once a dream that was LIC. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish... " Paraphrasing this quote from the movie Gladiator I've probably done a few times and so many times in my head, but I feel it works especially well for Maducatis Rustica and its embodiment of the old school, before the "industrial revolution" LIC it represents*. That's not to say Manducatis Rustica is a relic. Far from it. It is still the beating heart of LIC. Besides all the romanticism, this place is solid all around - great food, attentive service and cozy atmosphere especially in their outdoor back patio. They serve a delicious Neapolitan style pizza that may not score high points with the "One Bite" crowd, but I find it delicious and the toppings generous on the truffle artichoke with burrata one we had. I wasn't expecting much from the Chicken Paisano dish I tried, but was blown away by the flavor and how absolutely melt in your mouth fantastic the chicken breast was. We finished it off we some delicious gelato and I couldn't have been happier with my experience here. Manducatis Rustica is so central to everything LIC after a great meal here I suggest taking a stroll down to waterfront to admire the best view in the city. Cent' Anni to Manducatis Rustica I hope I never know a time without her existence. *You can read more about their history of MR and LIC here: https://manducatisrustica.com/long-island-city-queens-manducatis-rustica-vig-about
Came here for an late afternoon/early italian dinner and their backyard garden was absolutely lovely. I love that it was hidden inside the restaurant rather then the outdoor seating, which can be distracting with walkerbys and loud cars. The staff was wonderful and greeted us with warm smile. Then asked if we had any preference and of course I opted for outdoor. With a lovely fountain the garden just felt spa like and their decoration was stunning. I loved every bit of it. Once seated, they kindly handed us our menu. We ordered their truffle artichoke pizza and a chicken dish and both were delicious. The dough was chewy and soft. Overall, I enjoyed this place a lot and can't wait to check them out for brunch. They also allow dogs in their gardens sooooo yeah...heads up but to play it self, call first to double check. Cin cin!
I've bookmarked this place, and I finally got to go. It was strange how this we reserved it online on the website, but it didn't show up at the restaurant. Oh, wells. However, it didn't take long to get seated, and we were offered the bar or a table on the other side of the place we walked into. There was a wedding taking place there but they were able to accommodate us. Food wise, everything was really good. The group got mussels, which was seasoned just right. The burrata and verde salad went well as appetizers, too. For my entree, I had ordered the Fettuccine Bolognese, and I tried a little bit of the Rigatoni and meatballs. I must say that the coppa gelato tasted really good. I would really suggest this place for something low-key.
I absolutely love this place! If you want to just come in for some gelato, or have a fine dining experience, this is the place to come to in Long Island City! I have had the pleasure of enjoying both experiences and I will have to give this spot a solid A. Staff is great, food feels homey with a pretty presentation, and I personally love the decor. I've already made my rounds here before, but it is a place I'd happily go back to any time. Tip: I'd recommend having a date night here!
